Below are answers to most of the questions you've asked over the years. If you don't find what you need, please Contact Us and ask away.

REGISTRATION & TRANSFERS

I registered in 2022 but need to change my cat. What do I do?

I signed up for the criteriums but would like to transfer to the fondos. How can I do that?

Contact us at info@tulsatough.com, and we will walk you through that process

 

I can attend in September, but not June – is there a way to hold a spot for me before it sells out?

The criteriums are first come, first served, therefore we are unable to hold spots. The fondos have no field limit.

 

 

REFUNDS

If I register for the June event but end up unable to attend, will I get a refund?

No, but your entry in the criteriums is transferable to another rider by going to www.tulsatough.com. Click on “Race” > “Transfer and Cat Change” (or click here). Fill out the form and someone will contact you regarding your CAT change. Please note that it is your responsibility to collect your entry fee from the rider you transfer to.

 

HEALTH & COVID-19

If you hold it in June, what will your health protocols be?

We will only proceed if, using the best information available to us, we believe it can be done safely. We will follow CDC and local guidelines at the time of the event and will have all approvals required by the City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Health Department.

 

Anyone who has tested positive for COVID, has symptoms or is a higher-risk population is asked to sit this one out. As always, live streaming will be available at tulsatough.com.

When does crit racing start on Friday? 5:00 p.m.

When does the Saturday Gran Fondo start? The mass start begins at 7:40 a.m.

When does the Saturday Gran Fondo course close? 5 p.m.

When does crit racing end on Sunday? 5:50 p.m.

When does the Sunday Gran Fondo start? The mass start begins at 7:30 a.m.

When does the Sunday Gran Fondo course close? 2 p.m.

REGISTRATION

Can I register for the Gran Fondos or criteriums during the weekend?  Gran Fondos - Yes, but only on Friday night. Look for the registration area at Neff Brewery at 4th and Frankfort. The tent will be open from 3 to 8:15 p.m. Criteriums - Yes, Friday night, same area, and each day up to 30 minutes before each race.

Can I register the day of the ride for Gran Fondos on Saturday and Sunday morning?  No.

Where do I park for Friday criteriums? Any surface lot near the Blue Dome District.

Where do I park for Saturday Gran Fondos?  OSU-Tulsa parking lot.

Where do I park for Sunday Gran Fondos? Park in the surface lots near 18th Street and Boulder Avenue. You will need to enter the start line via 18th Street. Sunday Parking Map Directions to Parking

Which streets are on the Friday criteriums?  Elgin Avenue between Third and First Streets, First Street between Elgin and Detroit Avenues, Detroit Avenue between First and Second Streets, Second Street between Detroit and Greenwood Avenue, Greenwood Avenue between Second and Third Streets, Third Street between Elgin and Greenwood Avenues.

Which streets are on the Saturday criteriums? Cincinnati Avenue between Reconciliation Way and Cameron Street, Cameron Streets between Cincinnati Avenue and Main Street, Main Street between Cameron and Easton Streets, Easton Street between Main Street and Boulder Avenue, Boulder Avenue between Easton and Reconciliation Way, Reconciliation Way between Boulder and Cincinnati Avenues.

Which streets are on the Sunday criteriums?  Riverside Drive between Galveston and Lawton Avenues, Lawton Avenue between Riverside Drive and 13th Street, 13th Street between Lawton and Galveston Avenue, Galveston Avenue between 13th Street and Riverside Drive.

Where are the Gran Fondo route maps? Go to the Gran Fondo page to view the Gran Fondo route maps.

Can I see route profiles and get amount of climbing? Sure thing. Click the Gran Fondo map you're riding. The profile is displayed at the bottom with total feet of climbing/descending. Click the "View Full Route" in the top silver bar for a more detailed and interactive look.

Can I get route info for my GPS? You betcha. Click the Gran Fondo map you're riding, click the pink "Celebrate your geek" link, when the map opens, click "EXPORT" in the upper right corner.

Are the intersections blocked for me?  No. You must follow the Rules of the Road at all times.

What do you mean "Rules of the Road"?  It means you are a vehicle on an open public road and must obey all traffic laws. Here are the Rules

Which side of the road do I ride on?  You ride with traffic on your side of the road at all times.

PACKET PICK UP

When/where can I pick up my event packet?  On Friday, you can pick up your packet at the registration area located at  Neff Brewery at 4th and Frankfort from 3 to 8.15 p.m. On Saturday morning, you can pick up your event packet at the registration tent located just north of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 419 N. Elgin. On Sunday morning, you can pick up your event packet at the registration tent located near 15th Street and Riverside Drive. To save some time, complete the event waiver and bring it with you when you pick up your event packet. Click here to download the event waiver.

Is there a place to check a bag for a post-ride change of clothes?  Yes, at the check-in/packet pick-up area on Saturday and Sunday morning before the start of the Gran Fondos. Your bag will be waiting for you near the finish line with men's and women's changing tents available.

Where can I pick up my chip and bib number?  Your chip and bib number will be in your event packet. You can pick up your packet on Friday at the registration tent located at Fourth Street and Frankfort Avenue from 5 to 8.15 p.m. or on Saturday morning at the registration tent located just north of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 419 N. Elgin."

Where is the starting line for the Friday Criteriums? Third Street and Elgin Avenue

Where does the Saturday Gran Fondo start? North Elgin Avenue near Reconciliation Park; you will need to enter the start line from the north. Elgin Avenue will be blocked from Archer Street to John Hope Franklin Boulevard.

Where does the Saturday Gran Fondo finish? North of the race venue on Boston Avenue next to Griffin Communications.

How can my family find me after the Saturday Gran Fondo?  Go to Guthrie Green located on Reconciliation Way and Cameron Street and Boston and Cincinnati Avenues.

Where is the starting line for the Saturday Criteriums?  Reconciliation Way and Boston Avenue

Where does the Sunday Gran Fondo start?  15th Street and Riverside Drive.

Where does the Sunday Gran Fondo finish?  15th Street and Riverside Drive.

Where is the start line for Sunday Criteriums?  Riverside Drive, between Houston and Indian Avenues.

MERCHANDISE

I ordered a jersey, shorts, or bib shorts, where do I pick them up?  In the jersey tent next to the registration tent. On Friday, the registration tent is located in the big parking lot at Third Street and Elgin Avenue from 5 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, the registration tent is located just north of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, 419 N. Elgin. On Sunday, the registration tent is located near 15th Street and Riverside Drive.

I ordered other merchandise from your website besides jersey, shorts, or bib shorts. When can I expect them to arrive?  Those items are made to order and shipped direct to you from the manufacturer. Look for them the week of the event.

Do you take credit cards?  Yes.

Do you take cash?  Of course.

Do you take bit coin?  Sorry, you are out of luck!

AWARDS

What is the Double Tough Challenge? Sign up for the Saturday Gran and Sunday Medio distance both days. Finish both before course closure each day to earn the right to get the Double Tough Jersey!  There are timing points along the way to ensure completion of the distance. Find out more here.

What about the Ace Challenge? These are not races against other riders. There is no such thing as a "Gran Fondo Winner". First across the finish line just means you didn't get as much for your money as the rider who set a more leisurely pace. But, for those folks who can maintain better than 20 mph average for 100+ miles, we offer a Pro Peloton-style rolling enclosure with a special VIP experience while you roar down the road in pursuit of the clock. You will leave the start line ahead of the main Gran Fondo and you must register specifically for the Ace. Here's more.

FAMILY/TOWNIE

Are there any activities for kids?  Kids races will be held at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday and at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday. The Saturday races will take place at Main Street and Reconciliation Way. The Sunday races will take place at Houston Avenue and Riverside Drive. 

Where does the Townie start and finish? 15th Street and Riverside Drive.

Is there a map of the Townie? Yes, on the Townie Page.

Can we ride with training wheels?  Yes.

Can we ride with a Trail-a-Bike?  Yes.

Can we ride with bike trailers?  Yes.

Will there be help on the course?  Yes.Sags are available.

Is there a rest stop?  Yes.

Do I need a helmet?  Yes.

Where do I park?  Park in the surface lots near 18th Street and Boulder Avenue. You will need to enter the start line via 18th Street.

Where do I check-in?  At the registration tent near 15th Street and Riverside Drive.

Do I have to register?  No registration is needed but we do ask you to sign our event waiver before you ride. To save some time, complete the event waiver and bring it with you. There will be a tent near the start line to either turn in your prefilled waiver or fill one out there. Click here to download the event waiver.

GRAN FONDO SUPPORT

What do I do with my bike once the ride is over?  A secure bike check will be available to ride participants.

Is there a place to check a bag for a post-ride change of clothes?  Yes, at the check-in/packet pick-up area on Saturday and Sunday morning before the start of the Gran Fondos. Your bag will be waiting for you near the finish line with men's and women's changing tents available.

Is food and beverage included in the registration?  Snacks and beverages are available at all of the rest stops. At the end of the ride, a meal and drink will be waiting for you in the food tent at Guthrie Green located on Reconciliation Way and Cameron Street and Boston and Cincinnati Avenues. Your wristband is your meal ticket.

What if I get a flat tire?  Mechanics will be available on the course and rest stops. If needed, SAG vehicles will be available. You should always carry a spare tube and portable pump.

Is there an emergency number I can call while on the ride?  Yes, it will be printed on your wristband.

Will the rest stops have beverages, snacks and bathrooms?  Yes.

Do I need a helmet?  Yes.

Is there a place to fill my water bottle?  Yes.

Is there someone on hand to air up my tire?  Yes.
