The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis has again provided the opportunity for kids to win a free bike, helmet and t-shirt through Tulsa Tough. This year 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade-aged children are eligible for the program.
To receive the bike, children must meet these three requirements:
-Complete a Safe-Escape class conducted by the Crime Commission;
-Complete a Skills and Drills bicycle handling class conducted by the League of American Bicyclists;
-Participate in the Tulsa Townie ride on Sunday June 1st at Tulsa Tough.
Bicycles will be given after the Skills and Drills class.
All events are free for participating 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade-aged children.
Parents are encouraged to ride with their kids by registering separately for the Tulsa Townie. Entry fee for parents is $20 each.

Certified instructors will be on hand to teach children bicycle riding skills. Kids will be receiving and taking their bicycles home with them. Classes are available as follows:

The Tough Kids Challenge, presented by The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis, is designed to encourage physical fitness and introduce youth to lifelong health activities.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Children registering after the initial 300 will be added to a waiting list. The actual bike each child receives will be based on their height and availability, bikes will be available at the Skills and Drills class.
Tulsa Tough is a family-friendly event. Sunday’s festival will feature a Kid’s Zones with inflatable game activities. On Saturday May 31st there will be a short distance kid’s bike race with medals for all participants.
For the budding competitive cyclist Tulsa Tough has USCF sanctioned Junior races. Details and registration can be found on the racing page.
